Eric Steinthal z”l Scholarship Fund

The Ramah family suffered a tragic loss in 2012 with the untimely death of Eric Steinthal, z”l. Eric is remembered as the “glue” for keeping his edah (Gesher ’96) together, a strength that continued as he returned to Camp as a staff member, and stayed involved as an active alumnus and head of the Ramah Basketball Association (RBA). Eric’s RBA teammate and friend Adam Wallach (Gesher ’80) recalls that Eric was a relentless and talented player, but that more than that, “he got it when it came to community and family. As the RBA commissioner for many years, he was the driving force to include all alumni from every Ramah camp—not only Berkshires,” says Adam. “His vision was to make the RBA a community event, to make every Sunday like a party. Players would bring their friends and have a reunion each week.”

The Eric Steinthal z”l Scholarship is awarded to campers that receive a public school education and live in New Jersey.
