Kayitz 2013 is almost over but the fun continues!
For the first half of the week, moreshet were still at camp with us and we spent Sunday and Monday showing them around camp and spending almost all day with them. On Monday evening, we went on a photo scavenger hunt all over camp, capturing silly memories with our whole edah and moreshet. As a final goodbye to moreshet we had a send-off party on Tuesday night where we presented the pictures from our scavenger hunt in a slide show followed by a party with our moreshet friends.
On Wednesday, everyone except for Tzeirim (entering 7th graders) left camp, and so we joined forces to create an ultimate camp-wide day. We were all over A-side and B-side, competing in obstacle courses, relay races, and a super Nikayon challenge.
After lunch we had a mini color-war with a variety of sport options, including a Torah trivia bowl. A small, dedicated group of chanichim volunteered to help repaint Rabbi Ari Perten’s house. Giving back and getting messy was the perfect combination.
The day concluded with a dance competition integrating an assortment of songs that we practiced with during our free time all day. Eclectic talents were revealed as the edot choreographed dances.
Thursday was a chilly and rainy day at camp, which afforded us ample peulat tzrif time.
We are looking forward to the unique Shabbat experience of our own aruchat erev outside of the chadar, giving us the opportunity to lead our own Friday night shirah and further bond as an edah during our last few weeks of camp.
