Shabbat Shalom Shorashim Families!

I hope you are all doing well and having a lovely August!  It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up our last full week of Camp for the summer!  While there are only a few days left, camp is still bustling and in full swing.  This past week was packed with exciting days and activities.

Beginning on Sunday afternoon,Yom Sport included many intense, well-played sports games, cheers, learning, awesome banner making, good sportsmanship, fun, and even a helicopter! Ending with the Zimiriyah., on Monday night, it was great to be together as an entire machaneh and our edah rocked singing our edah song, Hinei Ba HaShalom!

On Yom Daled, our theme was “Around the World in A Day.”  With each tzrif representing a different country, we took a tour of the world, making stops in various countries to learn their anthems, a bit about their language and culture and doing fun activities including Zumba, ultimate, cookie decorating, country trivia, a paint fight, and an awesome evening luau!

Throughout the summer, we spoke a lot about the many forms of prayer and we worked to define prayer together. Through this week’s “Tefillah Awesomeness” we were able to   try it all on! Now it is time for each of us to find our own voice in prayer.Other highlights of the week included a peulat erev and other fun time spent with the Bible Players, “Tefillah Awesomeness”,a special peulat erev entitled Night of 1000 Stars and an awesome boker tzrif!

We look forward to Shabbat, our last Shabbat together as Shorashim. Here’s to an amazing last few days of camp

Shabbat Shalom,

Bryan Wexler
