My early morning summer walks around Camp, sometimes accompanied by staff, sometimes accompanied by Gesher campers and sometimes alone have given me a new perspective of the natural beauty of Machane Ramah that is often taken for granted. Lush green mountains surround a mirrored lake providing a certain peacefulness. It is here that our vibrant summer community resides forming a connected kahal filled with ruach, sensitivity, a love of Israel, sports, arts, Hebrew language and outdoor education.
During our second week of Camp, chanichim have already experienced peulot (activities) of their choice. Several edot took tiyulim ( trips ) outside of Camp to a zoo, water park, amusement park, and even a minor league baseball game. Highlighted by our July 4th concert and a musically enriched Rosh Hodesh, I felt the internal energy of our exuberant campers and staff. Waking up to Boker Tzrif, this morning,I also witnessed creative programming and solid bunk bonding.
As we prepare to welcome Shabbat we can reflect upon the past week and look forward to an exciting week ahead with week long trips, Sports clinics, Intensive in-Camp options and Sababa! Read about each edah’s exciting week and get ready for a Super Week #3.
You’ll soon receive Visiting Day instructions and 2017 application information. Looking forward to seeing you on Visiting Day—-Sunday, July 17th!
