I hope that you are enjoying the celebration of Hanukkah with your family and friends. With the New Year soon to begin, I am thrilled to inform you of an exciting project set for Kayitz 2015—just 185 days until Opening Day.
Last week, CRB received an official approval from the Dover Town Board to build a new facility in camp in two phases. Within the next few weeks, our Wingdale front office/Beit Am Katan complex will be demolished. For 50 years this building served as the nerve center of camp – our mail room and the main offices of our leadership team. Beit Am Katan has served as a makom tefillah – a prayer place for over 40 years with its beautifully adorned aron kodesh created in the 1970’s.
The newly designed and expanded structure will incorporate a state of the art office space with a warm and engaging Welcome Center at its entrance. Phase II will include a sophisticated Arts Center, central to both sides of camp. Machaneh Aleph campers will no longer need to schlep a long distance for Omanut ( Arts and Crafts) activities.
Rabbi Perten, members of our year-round Leadership Team and I are looking forward to greeting you at next month’s reunions . These events are always terrific opportunities for your children to rekindle their camp friendships and reminisce about summer days. Feel free to meet with other parents and to chat with us at the Cochavim and Nitzanim reunions.
Kayitz 2015 is only a few months away. Program plans are well underway and our staff is truly energized about this coming summer!
With warm wishes,
Rabbi Paul Resnick
