Guess what’s new at Camp this summer! OK, we’ll tell you…
Based on camper, staff, and parent feedback we have made a few significant changes to our summer program. From our surveys, we learned that almost 80% of our campers shared that the mitbachon(cooking) was their favorite activity. So, we built a second site! For the first time, we are offering two options for cooking in camp, raising the quality of the program and we will be able to “serve” more campers.
High Ropes CourseOur #2 change for the summer is our addition of the High Ropes Course. We took time to think systematically about how best to provide outdoor education to our campers in a safe and fun way. The result of that thinking is our newest outdoor adventure course…”The High Ropes.”  The it was partially installed in August, 2011 it now has been completed. Through climbing, belaying, zip lining and more our campers will learn about teamwork, leadership, and more.
Our #3 BIG change is our initiative to continue our Artists and Coaches Program in camp with the understanding that we must maintain a routine set of activities. While we have still invited all of these fun outside guests to come join us in camp, we have focused their visits to two set weeks. This enables us to host them while ensuring that the other weeks in camp will hold to our set schedule and structure. We are naming each of these weeks, Shavua Balagan, “crazy weeks.”
