This was an outstanding week in Nitzanim!
Every bunk did a special peulat tzrif from tie-dying Shema/Modeh Ani pillowcases to zip line to mitbachon to jumping on the water trampoline! Overall each tzrif really enjoyed spending time doing special peulot together.
This week we also had many memorable peulot erev. On Monday we played a few games in Hebrew with our Daber fellows and made “Rami” and “Chani” (our Daber mascots) dialogues in Hebrew to be hung up all around Camp. On Tuesday night, we started our Yom Daled of “Yom Through the Ages.” We started out in pre-school by finger painting and doing an obstacle course. During our elementary school years we played “are you smarter than a fifth grader” and made science projects.
After our middle school and high school years, we had a graduation where everyone’s name and degree was called. We ended the day with a mock wedding where we all learned the different parts of a Jewish wedding and enjoyed celebrating, singing and participating in it. Overall everyone really enjoyed our Yom Daled.
On Wednesday night we had an apprentice style peulat erev where each bunk came up with one improvement that could be made to camp and wrote a jingle, a skit, and made an advertisement for it. Everyone had creative and innovative ideas including a fun zone for Jewish learning and a water bottle campaign to promote tikun olam. On Thursday night we all dressed up as our favorite celebrities for “Night of 1,000 stars.” Everyone enjoyed dressing up and walking down the red carpet!
After a great week we are all looking forward to another Shabbat together.
Shabbat Shalom from Nitzanim!
