It has been an amazing first week in Gesher! On the first day of Camp, we proudly wore our Gesher t-shirts to show the whole machane that we are Gesher. Our entire edah went out on the second night of Camp to go “Team Themed Bowling.” It was an awesome night of bonding and a great start to the summer. We started hadracha (CIT training) on Thursday. Each week has a theme and includes a text study, game and debriefing session (all specially prepared by tzevet Gesher). It was a great way to lead into our first day of CIT-ing on Friday when Gesher campers begin to pass on Ramah traditions to the next generation of chanichim.
We also met as va’adot (programming committees) to start brainstorming all of the ideas and peulot that the Gesher chanichim are going to plan for the rest of the summer. We have six va’adot this kayitz ranging from peulot erev to Gesher fund and a yearbook va’ad.
The Gesher chanichim cannot wait for tonight when they will be standing up in front of the hadar leading shira (Shabbat singing) for the entire Camp. It’s an incredible feeling that all of us cannot wait to share with them! This is the moment that they have all been waiting for: the pinnacle of their Ramah years is this Friday night!
