This week Cochavim was filled with camp-wide activities and edah programs that kept us all busy and excited everyday! Our Shabbat theme was “Shabbat Conservative Judaism,” and we talked about identifying as an individual within a larger community and accepting different people and practices within our community. We ended Shabbat with a game of “Capture the Kosher Counselor,” and joined the entire Camp for a camp-wide Havdalah to begin Chashi (half a week of Israel).
All of the bunks had the opportunity to do an activity at the agam (lake) this week outside of the regular swim program, and the campers either went boating or on the water trampoline. On Tuesday, we roller skated on the tennis courts and went on a water slide on the kikar (field)!
On Wednesday we had our edah trip to the Trevor Zoo, where we saw lots of animals from around the world. After we ate lunch, we went bowling. We stopped for ice cream on our way back to Camp, and then came back to Camp for bishul (barbeque).
We’re all looking forward to our last full week in Cochavim!
