When I returned to Camp a few hours ago from the Chesed trip in Providence, I was bombarded by Bogrim chanichim (campers) raving about their Sababa experiences. As a Rosh Edah, I could not be more thrilled to see all of my chanichim so happy. The first Sababa trip was a huge and it could not have been possible without the amazing Bogrim madrichim (counselors) and of course the chanichim. The hardest part of this week was being separated from the rest of the edah but everyday I recieved messages from my tzevet (staff) about the scrumptous dishes the cooking Sababa had prepared, the beautiful hike in the Adirondacks, the determination of the biking trip to go the extra mile, and the amazing performances of the Bima group. On my own trip, we came together as a group and I saw chanichim who had never spoken become good friends. The chesed work we did not only made a difference for the people we were helping but also for the chanichim.
As we come back together as an edah, we will all share our own experiences. This Shabbat we will have Seudah Shlishit just as an edah and present each of the trips. We are currently working on putting together a web album so you can follow the Sababa experience.
Shabbat Shalom!
