Shalom Mishpachat Bogrim!
We can’t believe that Yom Orchum (Visiting Day) is only a few short days away! This past week in Bogrim has been a blast. On Shabbat we had very interesting discussions about whether or non-violence can be justified and how that applies to Conservative Judaism. The night our edah celebrated a momentous simcha – my sgan rosh (assistant) and I got married in a fake wedding! Our Rosh Tefillah went through the service and explained the different parts to the chanichim (campers). The event culminated in horah dancing, excellent food, and picture taking.
Sunday night Bogrim cheered on the Solelim play of Guys and Dolls and the next day we started to learn our Rikudiah dance. It is a lot of fun and the chanichim are very excited about the song. Monday night the banot (girls) defeated the banim (boys) in a Battle of the Sexes peulah as they answered trivia questions and played different gender related games. Wednesday was Yom Palmer! The JV team from Ramah Palmer’s equivalent of Solelim and Bogrim competed against our Chugim. All of the chanichim played their hardest and we are so proud of them. This coming Shabbat we will be learning about Shabbat in the home and the different customs families partake in.
Tzevet Bogrim cannot wait to meet all of you!!! See you soon!
