After a relaxing and rainy Sunday, Gesher woke up bright and early to begin our exciting trip to Washington DC! After several hours of travel time, beautiful sunshine greeted us in our nation’s capital as we headed straight for the zoo. After getting to know some of the not so indigenous wildlife, the edah enjoyed a pizza dinner before embarking on a walking tour of some of D.C’s most famous locations. On Tuesday, we left our base at Congregation Tefereth Yisrael to participate in community service at Marvin Gaye Park; the chanichim helped to clean up the park and play with some of the children at camp. The afternoon brought free time in the wonderful Georgetown college town and opportunities to visit the Smithsonian Museums including the popular Air and Space Museum.
Gesher was in for a treat Tuesday night when we saw the comedy murder mystery Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center! Wednesday was an exciting fun day at Six Flags that ended with a lovely edah dinner in Teaneck, New Jersey! It has been a wonderful week but as always Gesher is thrilled to return to camp, for Shabbat with the rest of the CRB community.
