Gesher jumped into the second month head first! After an amazing Visiting Day full of friends, family, and food we had a great high school musical themed yom daled. On Tuesday evening Chris Nicola, a professional caver, presented his 1993 Ukraine caving story to us in which he found old items that revealed that people had been living in the cave. After many years of searching Chris found out that there were about 40 Jewish people who hid in the caves to save their lives during the Nazi occupation of Poland during World War II. His research led him to a few survivors that he eventually brought back to the cave that saved their lives. You can check out this movie trailer to see and hear more about Chris Nicola’s compelling saga. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q0vuJRFn1q4.
