As another Sababa and Etgar week comes to a close, we are bursting with experiences to share with our friends. This week, four Sababa trips left camp! One group journeyed into New York City where they studied at the Kosher Culinary Institute and enjoyed various evening activities around Manhattan including attending a comedy show at the Upright Citizens Brigade. Another group participated in the BIMA arts program, at Brandeis, where they concentrated in either visual or theater arts. The theater campers put together an entire play in one week! Also in Massachusetts, some of us ventured into the (real) Berkshires on a week-long bike excursion.
Another group, traveled to Camp Ramah in the Poconos (Ramah Basketball Academy) to learn serious basketball skills from well-known player Tamir Goodman. Combining skill with touring, this group attended a minor league baseball game in Allentown, PA and an amusement park in New York. The remaining Bogrim chanichim, split into different Etgar (Challenge) groups, hiked, camped, and cooked-out along the Appalachian Trail for 2.5 days. The Etgar chanichim came back to camp feeling accomplished, bonded, and exhausted. . While these Etgar groups were in and out of camp we scheduled fun night activities including a scavenger hunt and ice skating! Bogrim will definitely welcome a restful Shabbat as we share our stories and celebrate “Shabbat Modern Family”. Shabbat Shalom from Bogrim!
