This has been a crazy but exciting week for Bogrim! We were split up into 5 different groups for the entire week. Some of us traveled to New York City to the Kosher Culinary Institute to learn how to bake pies, make sushi, and many other delicious creations. Another group participated in mitzvah projects around in New York City dedicating each day to different services, ranging from working at soup kitchens, women’s shelters, and clothing distribution centers. These two groups joined each other at night for fun city activities such as watching “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” projected on a huge screen in Bryant Park.
The rest of Bogrim chanichim participated in an outdoor adventure “etgar,” (challenge) where they engaged in hiking , biking, caving, and camping . We each had a blast in our various activities, but were excited to return to camp and regroup as an edah. . Today, we are back to our normal schedule, including auditions for our play, “Cinderella.” Shabbat has arrived just in time to offer us relaxation and “catch –up” time with our friends.
Shabbat Shalom
